Thursday, 16th Sept. walk with Peak Park Rangers
We will take the 9.15 a.m. No. 273 Castleton bus to Ladybower Inn. We will walk over the bridge to Hetherdean Car Park where Frank and his rangers will
meet us. We will start at 10 a.m. Let Betsy know if you are coming.
Sunday, 19th Sept. - we have 2 options:
1. Stocksbridge walk, taking the 9 a.m. No. 57 Stocksbridge bus to Deepcar Business Centre. Please let Betsy know if you wish to go on this. It is 5
to 6 miles long.
2. We are invited to send one minibus full to a special event organised by the Peak District National Park (remember Alison Foster who organised our motorcycle ride). This is to celebrate the opening up of land to walking which has always been closed to ramblers (CROW-Countryside Rights of Way Act). We will be provided with lunch at 12.30, have a short speech from a government politician, have a short walk of one and a half hours, and finish with tea and cakes. We can give out leaflets to the press and TV, and other outdoor groups who will have stands. This all takes place somewhere beyond Buxton so we would leave the Queens Head about 10.45 a.m. As this is a first-come-first-served occasion, ring Betsy if you are interested.
